Kantha jewelry starts with the idea of giving new life to old things. Kantha quilts are a traditional textile found all over India, made from layers of old cotton saris, sewn together with a running “kantha” stitch. Artisans transform the scraps into beads for jewelry and nothing goes to waste! New life is given to a textile that would otherwise be discarded. The wood bead base is made from scraps from a local furniture factory so it’s sustainable all around!
WorldFinds mission is to empower women through fair trade. Their collection of jewelry and accessories creates work for over 700 artisans in vulnerable communities in India. These thoughtful designs and sustainable practices bring change to the lives of the artisans, provide a bright future for their children, and strengthen their communities.
