Jugtown Willie's Blackberry Moonshine Jelly: This jelly was named for Jugtown Mountain, a nearby area in Hunterdon County that some say got its name from the stills that existed near the mountain during the Prohibition era. But, historians claim that the Jugtown name appeared in newspapers as early as 1810, so it is more
likely traceable to the 1761 “Jug Tavern.” In either case, I thought it would be appropriate to suggest a boozy beverage that always delights and surprises my guests. This easy-to-concoct Blackberry Cocktail is made with a couple of tablespoons of Jugtown Blackberry Jelly, the juice of half a lemon, and two shots
of gin, vodka, or white rum. Although I haven’t tried it yet, you may also want to experiment with adding this jelly to a Margarita.
